Kim Forsythe, LCSW, has provided mental health therapy for over 20 years to children and youth, adults, and families struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
She is highly skilled in identifying the developmental underpinnings of emotion and behavior; her practice philosophy is drawn from interpersonal neurobiology – how our relationships affect our brain development and mental health.
In her practice, she utilizes integrative and individualized treatment modalities, including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), EMDR, and is Gottman Institute-trained in couple’s therapy. She provides excellence of care for individual and group therapy at Sovegna. She has established and vetted our Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) protocol in conjunction with Dr. Wiet.
Kim earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Utah, completing her clinical training at Odyssey House in Salt Lake City. In her personal time, Kim enjoys running, volunteering at her children’s school and expanding her clinical knowledge.
