Meet Matt
Matt Wright has been working in the addiction industry since 2009 and is passionate about helping others recover. He has worked as Clinical Director of a nationally renowned dual-diagnosis program, co-founded a non-profit to support those who cannot afford sober living, and introduced Buddhist-based peer support meetings to Utah, among other things.
Matt is in recovery himself and has found mindfulness to be an essential foundation to his healing. He has studied under several teachers and was a volunteer research assistant at C-MIIND, a mindfulness—based research program at the University of Utah.
In addition to mindfulness training, Matt is a Certified Trauma Therapist and studied under the tutelage of Judy Crane, an international pioneer in trauma care. He also specializes in treatment of OCD and other anxiety-related conditions.
Matt holds a MSW from the University of Utah and received his BS in philosophy. The latter is an asset for addressing existential and identity issues in therapy.
Matt considers himself an “indoorsy” person and enjoys spending his spare time at home with his family. Reading and playing music are his other go-to indoor activities.
