HRSQ

The Health Resiliency Stress Questionnaire© (HRSQ) provides a quick overview of a person’s ability to tolerate and cope with stress. The HRSQ identifies and quantifies resiliency skills (strengths), tolerance to stress, expanded Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and other experiences of trauma and/or violence.

The Health Resiliency Stress Questionnaire© (HRSQ) is a free tool to provide a quick overview of a person’s ability to tolerate and cope with stress, which is known to significantly affect their health. Dr. Wiet created the HRSQ for busy primary care providers, and it is now valued also by therapists, treatment centers, medical specialists, naturopaths, and other providers. The HRSQ will remain an open-source tool for providers, because Dr. Wiet remains committed to help every provider "see" their patient more holistically. When traumatic stress is acknowledged, healing takes root, including physical health.

The HRSQ quantifies resiliency skills (strengths), stress-tolerance, expanded Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and other experiences of trauma and/or violence. We know that cumulative toxic stresses are highly associated with pro-inflammatory illnesses, which makes the HRSQ a very helpful and important tool for any health care practice. The HRSQ is an efficient (4-5 min), self-administered tool. The resiliency sections can be utilized to measure /monitor improvement from trauma-resolution therapies.

Privacy Assurance

NO IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION IS STORED. Plus, data is HIPAA-compliant and stored behind a secure fire wall. We also scrub the IP (computer) address that a participant uses to complete the HRSQ. We have gone the extra mile to protect responses of all participants, because we know how critical it is to protect privacy. Data that is stored includes date of completion, numerical scores entered, and basic demographics. This is an IRB-approved study.

Identifying Stress-Related Symptoms

Stress doesn't just impact our minds, it also manifests physically in many forms, from headaches and fatigue to trouble sleeping and digestive issues, or even high blood pressure. Unfortunately, its signs and symptoms may be hard to spot at first, leading many to dismiss or attribute these problems to other sources.

The HRSQ enables us to establish the link between physical symptoms and psychological stress. For example, you've been experiencing stomachaches and high levels of stress at work. With this data in hand, stress-related symptoms will no longer be missed or treated individually but within context of larger trends and events.

Why Is the HRSQ Important?

02

Assessing Mental Health

Mental wellbeing is as important to your wellbeing as physical health, yet it can often be hard to discuss openly. That is why the HRSQ includes questions related to anxiety, depression and burnout as well as ways to cope with difficult emotions. This way we can detect early warning signs for mental illness conditions more easily.

If the answers provided to us indicate that you've been struggling with mental health issues such as anxiety or depression. You can get treatment much earlier before problems worsen further.

03

Evaluating Coping and Resilience Skills

Life presents numerous challenges and obstacles. Each person responds to stress differently. The HRSQ examines your coping mechanisms and resilience, your ability to rebound after setbacks. In terms of managing stress in healthy ways or feeling overwhelmed?

By understanding your coping abilities and needs, we can suggest strategies to enhance coping mechanisms. This might involve therapy sessions, stress-management techniques, lifestyle modifications or resilience training programs. We aim to equip you with tools to manage stress.

04

Informing Holistic Treatment Plans

At Sovegna, we believe in treating the entire person rather than isolated symptoms. With HRSQ at ourservice, we can create a holistic treatment plan which addresses physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.

If the questionnaire shows that stress is negatively impacting your sleep and mood, our team might advise using multiple approaches such as:

  • Mindfulness or relaxation techniques to calm your mind

  • Counseling or therapy to address emotional challenges

  • Exercise or nutrition changes to support your body

  • Building social support systems to help you feel connected

This well-rounded approach leads to better outcomes and a higher quality of life.

05

Tracking Progress Over Time

Health is an ongoing endeavor. The HRSQ should serve as a way of tracking your progress over time. If there has been an important life event or medication change, or you've started therapy or a wellness program, filling out an HRSQ again can help us monitor your progress while making adjustments if necessary.

By regularly monitoring changes to your stress levels, symptoms, and coping abilities, we can tailor treatment accordingly and celebrate with you when significant progress has been achieved.

How the HRSQ Benefits You

Filling out an HRSQ may appear like just another form, but it can help take control of your health in powerful ways. Here is why taking part can benefit you:

  • Better Communication: The HRSQ provides you with a structured way of sharing sensitive health-related information with doctors or therapists, so they are aware of any factors influencing your health.

  • Personalized Care: Your answers enable our team to recommend treatments that meet your needs.

  • Early Intervention: By identifying the causes early, support or treatment can be obtained before problems worsen further.

  • Empowerment: An understanding of your stress patterns and coping abilities enables you to make well-informed choices regarding your health and well-being.

  • Whole-Person Health: The HRSQ supports an integrative wellness approach by targeting both body and mind to promote lasting well-being.

What to Expect on the HRSQ

The HRSQ is straightforward and confidential. You’ll be asked about:

  • Physical symptoms (like headaches, fatigue, sleep issues)

  • Emotional well-being (anxiety, mood, stress levels)

  • Coping strategies (how you handle challenges)
