Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy

Allow healing to begin

“ This unique treatment is like a reset button on the neuro-immune system and stimulates neurogenesis, which supports healing.”
— Susie Wiet, MD

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) at Sovegna combines physician-directed ketamine treatment with expert therapeutic support. This integrated approach has demonstrated significantly greater benefit for our clients than ketamine-only treatment.

We have developed our own KAP protocol, informed by research and clinical application, which has shown especially meaningful outcomes for individuals with a history of significant trauma and/or addiction.

A Thoughtful, Integrated Treatment Model

Many individuals who explore ketamine therapy have already tried multiple avenues of care, including medication trials, talk therapy, journaling, meditation, and physical exercise. While these approaches may offer periods of relief, symptoms often return or remain unresolved.

Our Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy protocol is designed to support deeper healing by pairing the neurobiological effects of ketamine with structured therapeutic guidance. This combination creates the emotional safety needed to process past experiences and integrate new perspectives, supporting lasting change rather than temporary symptom relief.

This intensive transition stimulates neuro-remodeling and opens a window for forming healthier patterns of thought, behavior, and emotional regulation.

Who May Benefit From KAP

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy may be appropriate for adults experiencing:

  • Severe depression that has not responded to prior medication trials

  • Chronic or persistent suicidal thoughts

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder

  • Certain chronic pain conditions

  • A history of addiction relapse

Eligibility is determined through careful assessment to ensure safety, appropriateness, and alignment with individual treatment goals.

Supporting Sustained Healing

KAP is not intended to be a standalone solution. We encourage continued therapeutic support following completion of a KAP protocol series to help integrate insights, reinforce new patterns, and optimize long-term emotional healing and growth.

Within Sovegna’s multidisciplinary model, KAP is one component of a broader, integrated approach to sustained recovery and wellness.

Important Disclosure

Please note that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved ketamine for the treatment of psychiatric or related conditions. Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy is considered an off-label use. Ketamine is officially approved by the FDA for anesthesia and anesthetic purposes only.
